Homepage Trade in your phone About us Environment Charities Getting Started Contact us

Sustainable living is at the heart of our business ethos. We believe in promoting ways in which we can all recycle for a greener future and reduce the waste entering UK landfill sites.

Mobile phones can pose a great threat to the environment if not recycled in the correct manner. With over 80 million phones lying in homes and offices around the UK and only a small percentage of those being recycled, it is important for everyone to understand the consequences of not recycling.

Mobile phones discarded in landfill sites can leak cadmium, lithium and mercury into the earth which can eventually end up in our ecosystem. The phone circuit boards and plastic casing contain poisonous and toxic substances that can have a detrimental effect to the environment if incinerated in a waste transfer station.

We recycle all our phones in line with the new Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive that came into force on the 1st July 2007. For more information on the WEEE Directive and to understand how it affects you please see the useful links below;
